General Academic Strand (GAS) is great for students who are still undecided on which track to take. The General Academic Strand (GAS) is one of those four strand of the Academic track for the Senior High School. A lot of a students are taking the GAS or the General Academic Stand field, because its general, and it can help you to decide what course you wanted to take up in your college days. Unlike the other career strands, General Academic Strand (GAS) is designed for the students who are not decided yet on what course they want to take in college, it is also designed for students who prefer a diverse selection of courses. In this strand, you can choose from the electives of the electives of the different tracks. Since GAS is not focused on only one specific path, it provides you with a numbers of opportunities after you graduate. Here are some of the courses you can take in college after General Academic Strand or GAS: Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED), Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED), Applied Economics, Environmental Management, BSBA Operation Management.

General Academic Strand (GAS) subjects are a mix of specialized subjects from the other strands: the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) strand, Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand, and Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) strand and other track offered for Senior High School students.

General Academic Strand (GAS) aims to provide the students with a framework of liberal education equipping them with a knowledge and skills to facilitate intellectual and physical growth, to pursue their studies in college. GAS strand does not cater to a specific career, you might be wondering what your options might be when you get into college. GAS strand also poses its own set of challenges that you will face. GAS is a perfect for you. General Academic Strand (GAS) is the go-to strand for the students who are still “feeling their way around” with which tract to take in Senior High School.

Every student in Senior High School should make a choice is choosing among the give tracks in Senior High School such as Academic, Technical Vocational Livelihood, Sports and Art’s & Design. In Academic track it includes three strands: ABM, HUMSS and STEM. We should always choose the track that we want because it is important for us students of SHS to have more knowledge and straight to our dream course that we really want to achieve before Graduating SHS. And from these tracks we can learn how to manage our time and what we want in the future, from learning to these tracks we can have business as student we can also have a part time and to know more what we can know from these tracks. There are 3 strands we can choose. It’s not a joke nor game choosing your strand, you must think clearly enable for you not to blame yourself in the end. Choosing your strand will help you in your college journey so think before choosing your chosen strand.
